Potassium hexafluorophosphate is used to prepare 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexaflurorphospahte and other organic hexafluorophospahte compounds such as alkylaryliodonium hexafluorophopahtes and triarylsulfonium hexafluorophosphates. It is also used in the cationic polymerization reactions as photo initiators. It involves in producing catalyst for peptide coupling reactions.

L’hexafluorophosphate de potassium est utilisé pour préparer de l’hexafluorophosphate de 1-butyl-3-méthylimidazolium et d’autres hexafluorophosphates organiques tels que des hexafluorophosphates d’alkylaryliodonium et des hexafluorophosphates de triarylsulfonium. Il est également utilisé dans les réactions de polymérisation cationique comme photo-initiateur. Il intervient dans la production d’un catalyseur pour les réactions de couplage de peptides.
