Description

Bromocresol Green sodium salt is used as a pH indicator. It is a pH sensitive triphenylmethane dye useful in various colorimetric detection studies and as an activity tracking dye for DNA agarose gel electrophoresis. It is also used in TLC (thin-layer chromatography) for visualizing compounds containing functional groups having pKa less than 5.

Applications
Le sel de sodium vert de bromocrésol est utilisé comme indicateur de pH. Il s’agit d’un colorant triphénylméthane sensible au pH utile dans diverses études de détection colorimétrique et comme colorant de suivi d’activité pour l’électrophorèse sur gel d’agarose de l’ADN. Il est également utilisé dans la chromatographie sur couche mince (TLC) pour visualiser les composés contenant des groupes fonctionnels dont le pKa est inférieur à 5.

Solubilité
40 mg/ml dans l’eau ; 60 mg/ml dans l’éthanol Soluble dans l’eau et l’éthanol.

Remarques
Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
